This 250 hour yoga teacher training
course covers the details and adjustments of each posture in the Primary
Series of Ashtanga yoga and the use of these postures as the basis for
a flowing Hatha class.
Meditation, Yoga Therapy, Sanskrit, Chanting,
Anatomy, Physiology and Yoga Philosophy will be covered. In addition
to the weekend training program students are required to attend 35 public
classes, 10 observation classes (no class pass required) and 25 Yoga Clinic
classes during the training period. To this end, each student will be
given 60 class passes, plus a bonus of 10 class passes, which may be used
at either our College or Danforth studio locations, while in the teacher
training program. They will not be accepted outside of this time frame.
The successful completion of this 250-hour course qualifies
you to find an entry-level position as a Certified
Yoga Teacher and gives you all the foundations of learning to guide
and instruct others.
A Certificate is granted upon
satisfactory completion of the course.
The Yoga Sanctuary is officially
affiliated with the Yoga
Alliance in the United States and our course fulfills their
requirements for a 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training Certification. Graduates
of our program may become members of the Yoga Alliance upon successful
completion of the course.

If you are unable to pay the full tuition fee, after your initial
$500.00 deposit, by September 19th, there are payment plan
options. There will be a $25.00 administration fee on each payment for
all of the following payment options. The fees set out below already include
the administration fee. These payments exclude the
$500.00 non-refundable deposit.

Cynthia
Funk: Cynthia is the co-owner of The Yoga Sanctuary. She received
her Yoga Teacher Training Certificate at Yoga Works in Los Angeles, studying
under the tutelage of Maty Ezraty, Chuck Miller, Eddie Modestini and Erich
Schiffmann. Cynthia began teaching in the greater Toronto area in 1997,
teaching in public schools, hospitals, private and public gyms, as well
as leading retreats on Ward's Island and in Northern Ontario. In 2000,
Cynthia studied in New York City and Boulder, Colorado with Ashtanga guru,
Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. That same year she completed an Ashtanga Teacher
Training with David Swenson. As well, Cynthia studied extensively with
Toronto teacher Esther Myers. She has been blessed to have studied with
many of the other senior Ashtanga Yoga teachers in North America. For
the past 7 years Cynthia has taught The Yoga Sanctuary, Yoga Teacher Training
250 hour courses.
Karusia
Wroblewski: Karusia is delighted to be teaching at the Yoga Sanctuary.
She has been practicing yoga for over thirty-five years, teaching for
fifteen, and is a graduate of the York University dance department. She
has a particular interest in the healing and transformational aspects
of yoga and works with therapeutic yoga in her private practice. She teaches
asana, dance, body prayer, pranayama, meditation, therapy, philosophy
and anatomy. Karusia is the originator of Shakti Flow Yoga, a yoga-dance
fusion approach for women seeking to embody the Divine Feminine.
Special Guest Teacher Cora Wen
Cora
took refuge in the Buddha over 30 years ago at age 13 and has been committed
to practicing Yoga to develop compassion and joy since 1995. After a stressful
Ivy League education and fervent career as Vice President of a bank, she
left corporate America finding her passion in yoga, and has been leading
workshops and retreats internationally since 1998.
She is an avid and focused practitioner of Hatha yoga, and has been influenced
by many renowned teachers including Judith Hanson Lasater, Erich Schiffmann,
Patricia Walden and Rodney Yee.
Cora has worked with Erich, Judith and Rodney as student, apprentice
and assistant in workshops and trainings throughout the US, Canada and
Mexico. From 1996-2003, she benefited from personal teaching apprenticeship
with Erich Schiffmann, and since 1998 continues to assist Judith Hanson
Lasater in Relax & Renew teacher trainings and therapeutic workshops.
Featured in many regional newspapers and magazines, Cora has attained
Experienced RYT500 status with Yoga Alliance and is one of the first Advanced
Relax and Renew Trainers of Restorative Yoga. Many students have discovered
the complimentary path of meditation with yoga practice through Cora's
passionate and enthusiastic guidance.
